Pool Houses
That Match Your Home

A pool house transforms a backyard into a destination. Dream Acres designs and builds custom pool houses across Middle Tennessee, everything from a simple changing room to a fully equipped guest retreat.
What Is a Pool House?

An Extension of How You Live. Not Just a Structure

A pool house is any dedicated structure built to support and enhance the way you use your outdoor space. At its simplest, it’s a changing room and a bathroom, somewhere to rinse off, get changed, and keep wet towels off your living room floor. At its most ambitious, it’s a fully equipped space with a kitchen, lounge area, and guest bedroom that makes your backyard genuinely self-contained.

Most pool houses fall somewhere between those two points. The right scope depends on how you entertain, how you use your outdoor space, and what would make the biggest difference to your day-to-day experience of your property.

Because we handle both pool construction and pool house builds in-house, the two projects can be designed and executed as one cohesive vision, with consistent materials, consistent craftsmanship, and a single point of contact from start to finish.

Why Build With Dream Acres

One Team for the Whole Backyard

“A pool tells you someone invested in their backyard. A pool house tells you they thought it all the way through.”

Z

Pool and Pool House, Designed Together

When the same team designs both your pool and your pool house, the result is a cohesive outdoor space rather than two separate projects that happen to sit next to each other. Materials, sightlines, and flow are considered as one, and it shows in the finished result.

Z

One Contractor. No Coordination Headaches

Managing a pool contractor and a separate builder on the same project means two schedules, two sets of decisions, and twice the potential for things to fall through the gaps. With Dream Acres, there’s one team, one contract, and one point of contact for the entire project.
Z

3D Design Before Anything Is Built

Pool house projects follow the same design process as our pool builds, including a full 3D render and a Value Engineering session before any work is agreed. You’ll see exactly what you’re getting and understand every cost decision before anything is signed.

Can Be Added Later, not Just Upfront

You don’t have to build your pool house at the same time as your pool. If you want to add one down the track to an existing Dream Acres pool or a pool built by someone else, we’re equally happy to scope and build it as a standalone project. The conversation is the same either way.

Designed as Part of Your Complete Outdoor Living Space

One of the biggest advantages of working with Dream Acres Pools is our ability to design complete outdoor environments, not just pools. We plan the entire backyard layout so that every feature works together, including:

  • Custom pools
  • Patios and decking
  • Outdoor kitchens
  • Fire features
  • Landscaping
  • Pool houses and pavilions

Designing everything together creates a cohesive outdoor space that feels thoughtfully planned rather than pieced together over time.

Let’s Design Your Pool House

Whether you’re planning it alongside a new pool or adding it to an existing one, the conversation starts the same way. Tell us about your space, your vision, and how you want to use it. We’ll take it from there.

Our reputation is built on communication, accountability, and the final finish—plus the support that follows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question that isn’t covered here? Call us at 615.358.9659 or reach out via our contact page.

Do we need to build the pool house at the same time as the pool?

No, while building both together is often more efficient and allows for more cohesive design, a pool house can absolutely be added later as a standalone project. If you already have a pool and want to add a pool house, or if you want to phase the project for budget reasons, we’re happy to scope and build it whenever the time is right for you.

Does a pool house require a separate permit?

Yes, a pool house is a permanent structure and requires its own building permit, which will vary by county and municipality. If it includes plumbing, electrical, or HVAC work, additional permits may be required. We manage all permitting on your behalf as part of the project, you don’t need to navigate that process yourself.

How long does a pool house take to build?

Timeline depends on size and complexity. A simple structure with a bathroom and changing room might take 4 to 6 weeks once permits are in place. A full custom build with multiple spaces, a kitchen, and guest accommodation can take 3 to 5 months. We’ll give you a specific timeline during your consultation once we understand the scope.

Can a pool house add value to my home?

Yes, a well-designed pool house is consistently cited as a premium feature in the real estate market, particularly when it includes a bathroom, outdoor kitchen, or guest accommodation. It extends the liveable square footage of the property and makes the outdoor space significantly more functional and appealing to buyers. The value added tends to reflect the quality of the build, which is why we approach pool houses with the same care as the pool itself.

Can you add a pool house to a pool you didn't build?

Yes, we work on properties regardless of who built the original pool. If you’ve got an existing pool and you’re ready to invest in the surrounding space, we’re happy to come out, assess the site, and design a pool house that works with what’s already there.

Is financing available for pool house projects?

Yes, we work with Lyon Financial for outdoor living and pool house projects, the same lender we use for pool builds. Their financing is designed specifically for this type of project and typically offers better terms than a personal loan or home equity line. Ask our team for details during your consultation.
