Elevating Your Existing Investment

Our Pool Building Process

Building a custom pool is an exciting investment in your home and lifestyle. At Dream Acres Pools, we’ve developed a clear and proven process that ensures every project runs smoothly from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.

Our team serves homeowners across Murfreesboro, College Grove, Franklin, Brentwood, Southern Nashville, Nolensville, and surrounding Middle Tennessee communities, helping families transform their backyards into beautiful, functional outdoor living spaces.

Below is the step-by-step process we follow to bring your dream pool to life.

Backyard swimming pool renovation project in Middle Tennessee

One Contractor, Every Stage

From design to construction to handoff, the same Dream Acres team manages your project. No handoffs between contractors, no gaps in accountability, no “that’s not our side of the job.”

No Surprises on Cost

The Value Engineering meeting exists specifically to eliminate budget surprises before work begins. What you agree to in that room is what you pay. Changes mid-build are always discussed with you first.

You'll Always Know Where Things Stand

Communication is a non-negotiable part of how we work. You’ll have a direct point of contact throughout your project and updates at every meaningful stage, from permit approval to construction milestones.

01

Consultation

We Start With a Conversation,
Not a Quote

Your first interaction with Dream Acres isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a conversation, about your property, your vision, how you plan to use the space, and what’s realistically achievable within your budget. We ask questions most pool builders skip, because the answers shape everything that comes after.

This is where we get to know you, and you get to know us. We’ll talk through the difference between gunite and fiberglass, what makes sense for your specific lot, and what the full project scope might involve, including any outdoor living elements you’re considering alongside the pool.

  • No pressure and no obligation
  • Can take place in our Murfreesboro office or on your property
  • We’ll give you an honest picture of timeline, budget range, and what to expect next

02

3D Design

See Your Pool Before
Anything Is Built

Once we have a clear picture of your vision, our design team gets to work producing a detailed 3D rendering of your project. This isn’t a rough sketch or a line drawing, it’s a fully rendered view of your backyard with the pool in place, showing the shape, features, finishes, and surrounding outdoor space.

For most clients, this is the moment the project becomes real. You can see the tanning ledge, the spillover spa, the waterline tile, the deck material, all rendered in the context of your actual property. If something isn’t right, we change it before we move forward.

GUNITE – Full 3D design of a completely custom shell — any shape, any depth, any configuration. The design reflects exactly what will be built because there are no pre-set constraints.

FIBERGLASS – The shell shape is selected from the manufacturer’s range and rendered in your backyard context, with full design work on the surrounding coping, decking, features, and outdoor space.

03

Value Engineering Meeting

The Meeting Most Pool Builders Skip

Before anything is signed, we sit down with you in our Murfreesboro office for a dedicated Value Engineering session. Your 3D design is pulled up on a large screen. We walk through every element together including features, finishes, materials and equipment, while explaining what each component costs and where there’s flexibility.

If the design needs to move to better align with your budget, we adjust it in the room in real time. If you’re comparing multiple quotes, we’ll walk you through how to read them side by side so you’re comparing like with like. You leave this meeting with complete clarity on exactly what you’re getting and exactly what it costs before a contract is signed.

  • Free, no obligation, and genuinely useful regardless of whether you choose us
  • Real-time design adjustments on a large screen in our office
  • Bid comparison education included — so you can evaluate any quote you receive

04

Permitting

We Handle the Paperwork.
All of It.

Pool permitting in Middle Tennessee varies by county and municipality, and navigating it is genuinely complex if you don’t do it every day. We do. Permitting is fully managed by our team as part of your project, so you’re not chasing approvals, decoding requirements, or dealing with local authorities on your own.

This stage can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on your specific county and the complexity of your project. We’ll give you a realistic expectation upfront and keep you informed throughout. Nothing moves to construction until everything is properly approved.

  • We manage all permit applications and authority communications on your behalf
  • Experience across all counties and municipalities in our Middle Tennessee service area
  • You’ll be kept updated on status throughout, no silence, no guesswork

05

Build

One Team. Start to Finish.

When permits are approved, we build. And when we say we build, we mean the same Dream Acres team that designed your pool is the team that constructs it all in-house, from excavation to equipment installation. We don’t subcontract your project out and hope for the best. Every stage is managed by our people.

You’ll have a consistent point of contact throughout construction. We’ll keep you updated on progress, flag anything that needs your input, and ensure the finished result reflects the design you approved, not a close approximation of it.

  • No subcontractors. Every stage handled by our in-house team
  • Regular progress updates throughout construction
  • Any site conditions or scope changes discussed with you before action is taken

06

Warranty & Ongoing Support

The Job Isn’t Done
When the Pool Is Full

When construction is complete, we walk you through everything, your equipment, your water chemistry, how to operate every feature of your pool. This is what we call Pool School: a dedicated handoff session designed to make sure you’re confident managing your pool from day one.

After that, we’re still here. Our 1-year workmanship warranty covers what we’ve built, and our team remains available for questions, service, and support long after the project closes. We built your pool, we’re the right people to call when you need help with it.

Our goal is to ensure you enjoy your new pool for many years to come.
  • Pool School handoff, full walkthrough of equipment, operation, and water chemistry
  • 1-year workmanship warranty on all Dream Acres construction work
  • Manufacturer warranties on equipment and shell passed through to you
  • Our team remains available for questions and support after the project closes
  • Ongoing relationship, not a handshake and a goodbye

Step One Is Just a Conversation

No pressure, no obligation. Tell us about your property and your vision, we’ll take it from there and walk you through exactly what comes next.
